About

The “Roga Farm” was started by Tony & Mien Rommens, two Dutch Canadian immigrants just after the second world war. Together, they shared and achieved their greatest dream of having a family farm. Their true loving partnership is shown using the name “Roga Farm”. This name was formed using both of the couple’s last names with Tony’s being “Rommens” and Mien’s Maiden name of “van Gaans”.

Decades of hard work and perseverance yielded a working dairy farm and also a successful family of six children and many grand children. After working for over fifty years in dairy, Tony and Mien retired to Riverview, New Brunswick. In 2003, they were awarded “Farmer of the Year” by the Botsford and Westmorland Agricultural Society.

The eldest son, Con Rommens who has been devoted to the farm since he was a child has since taken over with his wife Rose and children. They continue to develop the dairy farm business. In 2009, Con and his family were also honoured with the “Farmer of the Year” award by the agriculture community.
